Back in September, my husband and I visited Vancouver Canada to celebrate our 5 year wedding anniversary. We stayed at the Four Seasons right in Downtown Vancouver, which was absolutely beautiful.
They have a restaurant called Yew Seafood which was the best food ever with the very best service ever and the most amazing breakfast dish, called Quinoa Brûlée.
I ordered the Quinoa Brûlée every morning while we were there, and I couldn't wait to get home and make it myself. I did make it a few times when we got home and then perfected it now to share it with you. I love tasting new dishes when we travel all around and then try to recreate those dishes at home. I think you definitely have to get creative. Sometimes the dish is much harder than anticipated, and other times it's very simple and I over complicate it.
This recipe serves 2.
INGREDIENTS:
Directions:
Cook quinoa according to package and set aside.
In a blender, put flax milk, banana, cashew butter and B-Strong Protein Powder. Blend until smooth. Pour mixture into a medium sauce pan on medium heat. Stir occasionally. Heat until liquid is warm. It will thicken a little, so make sure you don't burn your mixture.
Put 1/2 cup cooked red quinoa in a cereal bowl. Pour in 1/2 of the liquid over the red quinoa. Top with anything you like.
This breakfast is delicious topped with any of the following:
Get creative with your Quinoa Brûlée and enjoy!
